EPL: Chelsea Face Points Deduction As Investigation Begins Into Financial Breaches

The Premier League has launched an inquiry into Chelsea for suspected financial rule violations during the reign of Roman Abramovich.

Following their acquisition of Stamford Bridge last summer, the new owners, led by Todd Boehly, reported their own club to UEFA and the Premier League.

The Premier League had not charged Chelsea as of Tuesday.

If the Blues are found to have broken the rules, they may face a fine or a point deduction.

UEFA fined Chelsea €10 million on July 28 for “submitting incomplete financial information” between 2012 and 2019.

Chelsea declined to comment when contacted by Sky Sports News.
