Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, has approved the appointment of his first son, Abdullahi Ahmed Bamalli as the new Walin Zazzau.
This followed the demise of the former Walin Zazzau and District head of Ikara, Engineer Aminu Umar, who died after a brief illness, on Sunday.
Our correspondent gathered that the title of Wali in Zazzau emirate is the third in heirachy among district heads positions held by royal princes after the title of Madaki and Magajin Gari respectively.
A statement issued by Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, media and publicity officer of the emirate, said the tittle was once held by Abdullahi Bamalli’s Great-Grand Father, late Walin Zazzau, Halliru.
The statement added that the Emir had also approved the appointment of Engineer Sani Galadima Umar, a younger brother to late Walin Zazzau, Engineer Aminu Umar, as the new Yariman Zazzau.
Recall that the former Yariman Zazzau, Alhaji Munir Jafaru was the former Yariman Zazzau who had since been elevated by the emir to title of ‘Madaki Zazzau.’
The Emir’s first son and newly appointed Walin Zazzau is a Software Engineer trained at Coventry University, UK, and he has worked at Etisalat and the Central Bank of Nigeria.
“Despite his illustrious background, Abdullahi Ahmed Bamalli remains focused on serving his community. His position as the Walin Zazzau is therefore a testament to his commitment to upholding tradition, promoting unity, and fostering unity and progress in Zazzau Emirate. In addition, Abdullahi is married with a son.”
“The date for the turbanning of the New Wali and Yariman Zazzau will be announced at a later time.” The statement added.
