At the organization’s celebration on Monday night, Emiliano Martinez was named Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper.
Argentina won the 2022 World Cup thanks in large part to the Aston Villa goalkeeper, who made a number of great saves and displayed exceptional sportsmanship to lead the South American nation to its third World Cup victory.
Martinez was outstanding in both penalty shootouts and made a crucial save in the extra period of Argentina’s championship game against France, which set up Argentina’s eventual victory on penalties.
