Emefiele Unfit As CBN Gov, He’s Extremely Partisan – Akeredolu

Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu stated on Wednesday that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, is unfit to lead the apex bank.

According to Akeredolu, the CBN governor should have been removed from office when he expressed interest in running for the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential ticket.

The governor also stated that if Emefiele’s primary bid fails, he will ensure that the 2023 elections are disrupted.

While receiving members of the APC’s Youth Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, led by Seyi Tinubu, Akeredolu revealed that the APC’s rating has dropped dramatically because of the naira and fuel shortages in the country.

He also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to instruct Emefiele to reverse the naira redesign policy immediately, saying that the new and old notes should coexist.

Despite an existing court injunction, the old notes appear to have ceased to be legal tender in the country, according to Akeredolu.

“We have a problem we are facing in this country today. Our rating as a party is not that favorable. Let’s not deceive ourselves. Must it be now that we will have this financial policy?”

“Okada, taxis, banks are not taking old notes again. There is an injunction, and everyone is behaving like there is no injunction.”
