The Commissioner of Police in charge of Abia State command, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie has assured the people of the state of the readiness of the command to provide adequate security as Muslim ummah marks Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement on Tuesday signed by the PRO of the command, ASP Mureen Chioma Chinaka made available to ABN TV, the police boss gave this assurance after an intensive meeting with alI Area Commanders and Divisional Police fficers (DPOs) in the state.
He tasked them to ensure adequate security coverage and a peaceful celebration of Eid-el-Kabir in the State.
CP Onwuemelie also deployed additional patrol teams to all nooks and crannies of the State to ensure maximum security before, during and after the celebration, the release added.
The release added, “The Muslim faithful celebrating Sallah in the State have been assured of a safe environment to freely go about their nornal activities without any hindrance:
“The CP wishes all Muslin faithful in Abia State a happy Sallah Celebration in advance and urges the good people of the state to be security conscious and report any suspicious person(S) to the relevant authorities for prompt action.”
