Eid-El-Fitr: Hon. Ogah Visits Lokpanta Cattle Market, Wants Muslim Ummah To Live In Peace With Host Communities (Video)

Member representing Isuikwuato/ Umunneochi Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Control, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah on Wednesday visited Umuchieze Cattle Market, Lokpanta in Umunneochi LGA to celebrate Eid-El-Fitr with the Muslim Ummah conducting their business activities in the area.

The lawmaker during the visit urged the Muslim community to fish out their members that have launched series of attacks on members of his constituency, appealing to them to imbibe the culture of peaceful co-existence with their neighbours.

He expressed worry that most people in the community have stopped farming which is their main means of livelihood as a result insecurity in the area, a situation that has caused hunger and poverty among the people.

According to him, “The hunger in our place today is because our people don’t go to farm again, herdsmen are raping our women and they are giving you people bad name.

“If we have Elders like you here and you cannot call the criminals to order, that means there is a serious problem. I want the right thing to be done and we must change our attitude.”

Hon Ogah also used the occasion to thank the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti for his quick intervention in setting up operation crush to mitigate insecurity in the area.

He donated food items and cash gifts to the Hausa community as part of his contribution to celebrate the season with them.

He also supported them with the sum of two million Naira for a renovation work on their mosque.
