Former Super Eagles coach and current NFF’s Technical Director, Austin Eguavoen, has congratulated the Flying Eagles following their win against Uganda at the 2023 U-20 AFCON.
The Ladan Bosso-led side pipped 1-0 Uganda on Thursday, to qualify for the semi-finals where they will meet either South Sudan or Gambia.
Also, the win against Uganda guarantees the Flying Eagles’ qualification to this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.
They became the second team after Senegal to book their ticket for the World Cup which will kick off in May.
And reacting to the team’s win, Eguavoen wrote on Twitter: ”Congratulations to the Flying Eagles. 🇳🇬.”
The Flying Eagles picked up their third consecutive win at the U-20 AFCON following the win against Uganda.
The last time the Flying were crowned U-20 AFCON champions was in Senegal in 2015.
