Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have allegedly stormed a live radio show at Urban Radio Enugu and abducted some presenters.
In a statement issued on Monday night, the management of the Radio Station said they were shocked as the EFCC is yet to give any official statement why their staff were abducted and equipment seized.
Our correspondent gathered that the ugly incident happened around 6pm on Monday Evening.
We recalled the Chairman of the Commission, Ola Olukoyede, in November 2023 ordered that sting operations at night be stopped in all the commission’s commands following complaints of the Operatives activities.
Olukoyede gave the directive in Abuja in reaction to the arrest of 69 suspected internet fraudsters in Ile-Ife, Osun State, by operatives of the Ibadan zonal command of the EFCC.
The spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, Dele Oyewale made the development known in a statement obtained by our correspondent.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, EFCC is yet to issue any official statement why they stormed the Radio Station.
