The Accord Party has confirmed Comrade Kennedy Iyere as its governorship candidate for the Edo State governorship election.
The party, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Joseph Omorogbe, also urged its members and the general public to disregard what it describes as misleading information by its Deputy governorship candidate, Bright Enabulele, that he is now the flagbearer.
The Accord Party’s leadership said it is alarmed by a recent statement from Enabulele, who, in an interview with the media falsely claimed to be the governorship candidate for the 2024 Edo Gubernatorial election.

The party said, however, that it is imperative to clarify that Iyere rightfully holds that position, having emerged from the party’s primaries on February 17, 2024, adding that his candidacy has been duly registered on the portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The party maintained that Bright Enabulele, on the other hand, is rightfully listed as Comrade Iyere’s running mate.
”The party vehemently denounces the misinformation, cautioning against its potential to unnecessarily stoke tensions in the political arena.
It urged both party members and the general public to dismiss this misleading narrative.
Accord further called upon politicians to exhibit professionalism and responsibility in their statements, emphasizing the importance of avoiding actions that could sow discord among party members or mislead the unsuspecting public.
