The people of Ebem Ohafia in Ohafia local government area of Abia state are set to mark their 2024 new yam festival which will also feature Igba Ekpe festival.
This is contained in a joint statement issued by Ebem Ohafia Development Union (EODU) with the endorsement and support of Ezie Ogo Ebem In Council and the entire Ebem Ohafia, made available to ABN TV on Friday.
“The entire Ebem Ohafia Community will celebrate her Annual (2024) New Yam Festival (iri ji)/Igba Ekpe/Thanksgiving”, the statement co-signed by Chief Emeka Mba, Elder Idika Kalu Uche and Engr. Ifeanyi Okali, the President General, Secretary General, and the Publicity Secretary of EODU respectively.
It holds on Saturday, Orie, 28th September, 2024 at Abum Square, Ekeluogo Ebem Ohafia from 10am.
“This is an ample opportunity for our Community to thank and appreciate the Almighty God for the bountiful harvest using yam as the King of all crops”, EODU declared.
