The people of Ebem Ohafia, Ohiafia local government area of Abia state have fixed the 30th of January every year as a thanksgiving day for all sons and daughters of the community globally.

Also speaking, Elder Mrs. Elizabeth Ukpai, the leader of Inyeme Ibem home and abroad said the decision to have thanksgiving annually is to express thanks to God for delivering the people from the averted January 9 averted inferno.
She appealed to all women of Ibem to ensure they participate in the annual thanksgiving.
