Ebem Ohafia Holds Security Awareness Lecture, Expert Harps On Tackling Kidnapping

In preparation for the 2021 Ebem Cultural Day festival, the people of Ebem Ohafia in Ohafia local government area of Abia on Sunday held a security awareness lecture which centered on tackling the resurgence of kidnapping in the community.

The facilitator of the programme,Mr Ikechi Ogba Otah, a retired officer of the Department of State Services, DSS who spoken with ABN TV said he shared his experience with the people of Ebem where he educated them of measures to fight kidnapping in community.

According to him, during the lecture, he also educated the people of the community on how to avoid being kidnapped, how to conduct themselves in cases of forceful abduction to a avoid possible brutality and tips to enhance security generally.

He said the security awareness has become important especially to awaken to consciousness of the people this festive period on how to enhance their personal security.

Ebem Ohafia Cultural day which takes place today according to the paramount Ruler of Ebem kingdom and Kpoke 1, Ekeluogo Autonomous Community, Ebem Ohafia, HRH. Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, is an opportunity for the community to assess its progress in the outgoing year and set new agenda for the new year.

Earlier in a chat with ABN TV, the traditional ruler said the day will also afford the community opportunity of displaying its rich cultural heritage.
