As the annual Ebem Cultural Day comes up Monday, December 27, 2021, the paramount Ruler of Ebem kingdom and Kpoke 1, Ekeluogo Autonomous Community, Ebem Ohafia, HRH. Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha JP, has said the event is an opportunity for the community to assess its progress in the outgoing year and set new agenda for the new year.
Speaking with ABN TV on Sunday, the Traditional Ruler said various age grades are the various drivers of the cultural festival.
He noted that ongoing projects assigned to various age grades will be assessed while the completed ones will be commissioned and named.
While emphasising that age grades which are due for retirement traditionally will be celebrated, the Royal Father said the younger age grades will at the even assigned projects which they are expected to complete within a specific period of time.
“Then we assess our Development Union and see how far they have gone during the year and make proposals and expectations known to them for the upcoming year.
“Then we talk about security, infrastructural development, and issues that border on our development.
“Thereafter we go into display of culture. We display dances and other things that depict our peculiar culture” he said.

According to the Traditional Ruler, the newly elected exco members of Ebem Ohafia Development Union, EODU will also be sworn in during the cultural festival.
The event which will take place at Abum Square Ekeluogo, Ebem Ohafia, Ohafia LGA Abia State will also feature a security awareness lecture.
Commencement time is 10am.
The event which usually takes place on December 26th was shifted to 27th of December because it was a Sunday.
