The Paramount Ruler of Ebem kingdom and Kpoke 1, of Ekeluogo Autonomous Community, Ebem Ohafia, Abia State, HRH. Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha (JP) has said that the kingdom is not a chieftaincy title distribution centre, insisting that titles are worked for an earned in project, character and perception, ABN TV reports.
According to the Traditional Ruler, those who come to acquire chieftaincy title in Ebem through financial inducement will not succeed, urging them to instead channel such resources to projects that will benefit the community.
Speaking at the just concluded 2021 Ebem Cultural Day in Ebem Ohafia on Monday, the Traditional Ruler said he does not have the sole right to give any individual a traditional title, insisting that the Council of Chiefs and the leadership of Ebem Ohafia Development Union, EODU will have to access and certify that any nominated candidate for chieftaincy title is deserving of it on the account of what he/she has done for the community, their character and community perception of such individuals.
The Kpoke 1, of Ekeluogo Autonomous Community cautioned those who want to acquire chieftaincy title in the kingdom through financial inducement to desist from such.
He said there are road, health care, school and other projects in the community the people can benefit from, directing those who seek such recognitions to touch the lives of the people through such projects.
He said Ebem is unique and will not indulge in orgy of sharing its revered traditional titles to undeserving individuals.
