The candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) for Isialangwa North/South Constituency of Abia State in the 2019 election, Lady Blessing Nwokenneya Uwaoma, popularly known as odi uko n’mba has urged the people to imbibe the act of sacrifice and selflessness which Jesus Christ exhibited during His earthly mission.
She gave this advise in her Easter message on Monday.
In a chat with newsmen, she expressed regret that this year’s Easter celebration is on a lowkey due to the restriction on movement placed on the state to checkmate the spread of coronavirus but reiterated that it will soon be a thing of the past.
“This year’s Easter celebration is a low keyed celebration occasioned by the ravaging covid-19 pandemic, a confirmation that we are pilgrims on planet earth and hapless victims of a decaying world which resulted in the generous sacrifice of Christ on the cross of Calvary” she said.
Lady Uwaoma therefore enjoined Christians to eschew bitterness and rancour and embrace peace and forthrightness in all their dealings.
She advised her constituents to stay safe, be law abiding and mindful of the laid down precautionary measures put in place by government against the covid-19 pandemic.
She also expressed optimism that God shall guide and protect them and their families during this period and beyond.
