Hon. Dennis Idahosa, the deputy governor of Edo State, has urged Christians to emulate Jesus Christ’s example of selflessness and love as Nigeria celebrates Easter alongside the rest of the world.

In his Easter message, delivered through his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, Idahosa stated that this, alongside tolerance, is the surest path to achieving sustainable peace.

The deputy governor also urged Christians to continue praying for the nation to overcome its current socio-economic challenges.

Idahosa expressed appreciation to Christians for their fervent prayers for the state and the country during the 40-day fast, which culminated in the Easter celebrations.

He said, “This is to enjoin Christians to imbibe the spirit of love and selflessness exhibited by Jesus Christ. I commend Christians for their fervent prayers, and there is a need to sustain the prayers and piety beyond this season.”

The deputy governor prayed that their supplications would manifest in their personal lives and in the life of the nation.

He also assured the people of the state of Senator Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy across every part of Edo State.
