Easter: Allow God’s Love Reflect In Your Heart, Pay Workers, Abia Lawmaker Charges Gov. Ikpeazu

As Christians across the globe celebrate Easter, member representing Bende North constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu has called on governor Okezie Ikpeazu to use to opportunity of the festive period to show love to workers in the state.

According to the lawmaker, the essence of Christ’s sacrifice for mankind will not be achieved if the Governor does not pay workers, teachers and pensioners in the state.

In a chat with ABN TV on Sunday, he said, “The only way the Governor can show that love and the acknowledgement of sacrifices Jesus Christ made on the cross of calvary is to show Abia workers love.

“He cannot show Abia workers love if salaries are not paid as and when due. If teachers are being owed for upward of 13 months, health workers are on strike because they are being owed, they are hungry, there is no way he can show that the love of God is being reflected in his life and administration.

“I enjoin the Governor to ensure that workers who are going hungry day and night, whose families are suffering, benefit from the spirit of Easter by re-dedicating himself to service of humanity. He cannot re-dedicating himself to service of humanity without paying workers, pensioners” he said.

The lawmaker also thanked the people of Bende North and Abians in general for remaining peaceful and demonstrating maturity of character in the face of provocation.

He also acknowledged the support his party the APC has received from Bende North and the state at large.
