DSS Releases 8 Sunday Igboho’s Associates [Photos, Video]

The Department of State Security Services has released 8 of activist, Sunday Igboho’s aides after detaining them for 61 days.

ABN TV gathered that they were released to their lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi on Monday.

However, Four of them were not released as the DSS claimed that they played a big role in stockpiling arms and participated in other alleged criminal activities of Igboho.

Olajengbesi, who addressed the press shortly after their release disclosed that the security agency must release the other 4 that are still in detention because they had been granted bail by the court.

He also thundered that the DSS must account for the two associates of Igboho killed during the bloody raid of July 1, 2021. It can be recalled that DSS operatives stormed Igboho’s Soka, Ibadan residence killing two people and recovering several arms and ammunition.

Igboho was declared wanted shortly after by the agency. Unfortunately, the activist was arrested in Benin Republic alongside his wife as he attempted to flee to Germany.

However, on August 4th Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja granted bail to the 12 detained aides of the separatist leader. This order was not complied with until today.
