There were reports online that Aisha Ahmad, a former Deputy Governor of the CBN who was in charge of Financial System Stability, had been arrested by the DSS.

Ahmad was said to have been arrested and detained by the security services over the alleged fraudulent acquisition of shares in Polaris Bank and Titan Bank/Union Bank.

This reportedly includes the sum of $300 million to complete the acquisition of Union Bank, which was raised by Titan Bank.
