Drama As INEC Staff Lock Up Abia REC Over Alleged Unpaid Benefits Few Days To Tenure Expiration (PHOTOS)

Staff of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Abia State have staged a peaceful protest, demanding for payment of their benefits by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Mr. Joseph Iloh.

ABN TV gathered that his tenure expires few days from now.

The staff locked up the entrance and block the exit gates with the staff welfare bus on Tuesday, insisting that the REC will not leave office until he pays outstanding benefits.

A staff who spoke with ABN TV on the condition of anonymity said some of the outstanding benefits include that of the recently conducted primaries.

Efforts to reach the embattled REC proved abortive as at moment of this report.
