The Kano State Police Command has reiterated that the ban on commercial motorcycles in the state’s metropolis remains in place, warning riders relocating from Lagos State to stay clear of Kano city.

The ban in okada in Lagos which took effect June 1 is believed to lead to mass exodus of okada riders from the state to other cities.

However, in a statement on Thursday by the spokesman of the Kano Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, directed all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) within Kano metropolis to continue to enforce the ban.
