Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has tasked the new state Commissioner of Police, Umar Sanda, not to compromise issues of security in the state no matter whose ox is gored.
The governor tasked Sanda when he paid him a courtesy visit to the governor at the Government House, Bauchi, on Thursday, warning that effective security is not negotiable in the state.
The governor told the police boss that the issue of security in the state should not be trivialized by any means, charging him to provide effective policing across the state using a community policing system.
Mohammed advised the police commissioner to do this by engaging traditional and community leaders who have adequate knowledge of their people and the terrain.

The governor further charged Sanda to work with the state government in addressing various forms of security challenges from across the state, given the state’s terrain.
He assured that the state administration under his leadership would continue to provide all the needed supports for the people and other security agencies in tackling security issues, saying that security must not be toyed with.
He then admonished the police commissioner not to be influenced by self-centred personalities no matter their status, adding that he (CP) should provide a platform for discussing critical security issues with the Divisional Police Officers who are more on the ground to enhance their operations.
Speaking earlier, Sanda informed that he was at the Government House too familiar with the governor having been just transferred to the state.
The police boss assured that the police command in the state under his watch would ensure that crimes and criminality are reduced to the barest minimum, adding that police personnel would be adequately deployed in the state.
He further assured that the command works effectively with all stakeholders in the security sector with a view to getting criminals out of the state.
