DisCos Announce New Meter Price Hike

Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) in Nigeria have announced new prices for various electricity meter models, marking the second price hike in four months.

The new prices, effective from Tuesday, November 5, 2024, show the deregulation of Meter Asset Providers (MAP) as directed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

According to the DisCos, the cost of a single-phase meter has risen from about N117,000 to N149,800, depending on the distribution company and meter vendor.

This recent hike came after an earlier increase in August 2024.

In Eko DisCo, Single Phase Meter costs between N135,987.5 and N161,035 while Three Phase Meter now sells between N226,600 and N266,600.
