Diaspora Group Blasts Igbo Leaders, Demands Nnamdi Kanu’s Immediate Release, End To K!llings | #AbnTv
A powerful Igbo diaspora organization, Ikenga Think-Tank, North America, has issued a damning open letter to South East governors, senators, political leaders, and security agencies, accusing them of betraying their people and remaining complicit in what it called the “systematic extermination of Igbo youth.”
In the letter, signed by its president, Dr. Dunkwu Agbambu and made available to ABN TV, the group decried the continued detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and the worsening insecurity in the region, describing both as a shameful stain on Igbo leadership.
“By remaining passive while Mazi Nnamdi Kanu remains unjustly incarcerated, you bring shame upon Igbo intelligence, our ancestors, and above all, our Yah,” the letter read.
The diaspora group presented four urgent demands to Igbo leaders;
Condemnation of Killings: A clear and united condemnation of the targeted killings and unlawful persecution of Igbo youth.
Release of Detainees: An active, public call for the immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and all other detained Biafra agitators.
Security Overhaul: Concrete measures to secure Igbo land from external attacks and internal betrayal.
End to Military Checkpoints: Immediate withdrawal and closure of all military checkpoints across the South East.
Ikenga Think-Tank accused South East leaders of abandoning the legacy of the region’s founding fathers and warned that history would not absolve them if they failed to act.
“Your loyalty is not to Abuja, nor to the fleeting privileges of office, but to the survival and dignity of our people. If you continue on this path of silence and betrayal, history will not remember you kindly,” the group warned.
The group said it is meticulously documenting every action and inaction of Igbo leaders and vowed to hold them accountable “on the inevitable day of reckoning.”
“The time has come to choose: stand with your people, or stand exposed as willing accomplices to their destruction. The choice is yours — but know that we are watching, the world is watching, and posterity will not forget,” it concluded.
The letter has reignited public debate about finding a political solution to Kanu’s case and intensifying calls for stronger security measures to end the bloodshed in the South East.
