Dr Aminu Malle, the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, has resigned his appointment.
A statement issued on Thursday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, Umar Puma, titled ‘Wase’s Chief of Staff Resigns,’ said the resignation complied with the provision of Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act 2022.
Section 84(12) of the Act reads, “No political appointee at any level shall be a voting delegate or be voted for at the convention or congress of any political party for the purpose of the nomination of candidates for any election.”
According to the statement, Malle said he resigned to contest for the seat of Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba State at the House.
