Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has mourned the passing of a top Nollywood actor and comedy thespian, Mr. John Okafor popularly known as Mr. Ibu.
Ibu, reported dead at 62 Saturday night was battling an ailment before his demise.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu who had expressed optimism about Ibu’s full recovery said that he contributed to the development of Nollywood through his comical roles in movies.

Consoling his immediate family and Nollywood at large over the loss of the man he described as “iconic comedian“, Kalu said that the actor will be greatly missed by the entertainment industry and millions of homes and families he brought laughter and happiness into with his roles.
He prayed God to give the departed an eternal rest.
