Deputy Speaker, Kalu Commiserates With Ex-Minister, Ogah, Rep. Member Amobi Over Mother’s Death

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has paid a condolence visit to the former minister of state for mines and steel development, Chief Uchechukwu Ogah and his brother, Hon. Amobi Ogah who is currently representing Isikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State in the parliament over their mother’s demise.

Commiserating with the bereaved family during the visit in Uturu, Isikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State, Kalu urged them to take solace in the fact that their mother, late Ezinne Paulina Ogah lived and died in Christ Jesus, Levinus Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker said in a statement.

He described late Mrs Ogah as a peaceful woman, assuring her children that she has gone to live in a better place.

Kalu also admonished the family to continue living in peace to accomplish the wish of their matriarch.

He said: “Mama lived long. At 80, she lived beyond the Biblical 70 years on Earth. His son and our colleagues, Hon. Amobi Ogah told me that Mama spoke and prayed for him. The former minister also said she sang and danced with him but later without any sign of sickness or even a headache, she went to bed and from there passed on. For me, it is the Will of God. The peace she left in her family shows she’s a peaceful woman. It’s only a good woman that will dancing and praying with her children in her last days on earth.

“She left an instruction that her body should not be taken the mortuary. The children have the resources to put her in the morgue but they honored their mother words and rallied round to bury her according to her wish.

“I want to thank you and your brothers for coming together to do the wish of your late mother. You didn’t start making troubles but agreed peacefully to honour your mother. You will receive the blessings. God will bless you.

“We came to console you. No matter how long a person lives, when gone, the pain will always be there because what flashes in your mind now is the good times you shared together. Hon. Amobi said they prayed together. You said you danced together. In your quiet moments, it will be done on you that Mama is really gone. When that feeling that oh! mama is really gone comes, please, be consoled that she is with our Lord, Jesus Christ which is where she wanted to be. When that feeling comes, please remember to remind yourselves that she is in a better place.

“The bond within the family should not disappear now that Mama is no more. Let the love that she left behind be the uniting force. You will be honoring her if you sustain that because that is her wish that the family remains together. I am also confident that she raised champions, God fearing men. Please, take heart. May the Lord give you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May the sound of sadness not be heard in this house. Let’s hear more of sounds of joy and victory in business and politics and personal lives”.

In his response, the former minister who is also the Chairman of Masters Energy, Uche Ogah, on behalf of the family, expresssed gratitude to the Deputy Speaker for finding time to visit them in their time of sorrow.

Thank you for making out time to come to see at this difficult time of our lives when we are sorrowing. Thank you for always been there as a brother. We appreciate this singular gesture. My mother was someone that knew Jesus Christ. For us we are happy she died in the Lord. We have hope as Christians. We believe that one day, we will all see each other“, he said.
