Former Director of Operations of the Department of States Service, DSS, Chief Ray Nkemdirim (MFR) has urged the newly appointed service chief to apply dialogue in handling security concerns in South East and South West.
He also maintained that military tactics alone is not enough to provide a solution to security concerns in the region.
In an interview with Flo FM Radio, monitored by ABN TV, Mr. Nkemdirim while tasking the new service chiefs to take the two regions as priority added that the security issues there affect the unity of the country directly.

“If we don’t handle these issues carefully, we may have ourselves to blame on the long run. Beyond military tactics, it is also important that a lot of dialogue is brought to bear on the situations in these respective parts of the country.
“There is no doubt there are little animosity or misgivings here and there, which has culminated in what we are seeing.
“It is important that these military commanders take up these challenges head-on in the shortest possible time,” he said.
He further expressed concern that if they are allowed to fester for a long time, it may degenerate into more serious security challenges.
