Declare State Of Emergency On Southern Routes, CSG Urges Tinubu

A new umbrella organization for all southern groups, the Coalition of Southern Groups (CSG), has urged President Bola Tinubu to impose an immediate state of emergency on all federal roads in the southern region of the nation.

At its maiden media interface Thursday in Abuja, the coalition also canvassed a law that would force all public officials to use the roads for all local trips.

Chairman of the coalition and a former Commissioner in Imo State, Prof. Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe, who read the address to journalists alongside the coalition’s Secretary, Comrade Bello Osaretin, said it has become a nightmare for people of the South South, South East, and South West to access the nation’s capital, Abuja, or even other states within the region.

He said, “The Coalition of Southern Groups (CSG) calls on the federal government to, as a matter of urgent national importance and concern, declare a state of emergency on all the federal roads in the southern part of Nigeria.

“That the sordid state of the roads is yearning for attention and long overdue for total repairs and overhaul. It is on record that the southern part of the country produces the liquid gold that sustains the economic well-being of Nigeria, and these roads have been left unrepaired for decades.

“Therefore, the CSG frowns at the total neglect of the majority of roads in the entire southern region of Nigeria and charges the relevant ministries and agencies to wake up to the clarion calls of fixing all the road networks across the southern region. This emergency meeting of stakeholders of CSG is essentially to deal with some of the critical issues that affect the good people of the southern region. Today, it is difficult for our farmers to ferry their farm produce to available markets due to the deplorable conditions of all the roads in Southern Nigeria.

“We want a law where elected and appointed public officials are forced to ply our roads rather than flying. It is only through that that they will understand the feelings of the common man.

“Coming from the South West, South East, or South South to Abuja is a nightmare.”

The CSG urged the Federal Government to enhance the capacities of Federal Controllers of Works in each state to be able to perform their supervisory roles effectively.

The coalition also expressed its desire to “interface with the Presidency and, of course, Northern leaders on the way forward for national development.”

  • It sounds so stupendous to hearing that a whole Nigeria whose wealth flows like the mighty ocean is trying hide out from SETTLEMENT of great hero of Grand single bone, GENERAL LEGEND DANDY CHUKSON.

A whole great hero who choice to die for his country under sun under rain to hear that up till now the federal government refused to respond to all my efforts to reach them.

When once there is no reason I felt that it might be well known tendencies of blatant hatred and so vendetta and glaring vengeance along the line with a hidden agenda, so unresponsive and arrogant disposition being coupled with penchant for arbitrariness.

It is a great taboo on His EXCELLENCY Ahmed Bola Tinubu, this is a burnt of stigma that can never be alleviated by the golden sun and the silver moon .

yet remember you are upon the throne today I was the brain behind it and peace upon your throne, ignoring me in this way makes me feel like had I know my second option could have been my right choice .

If the federal government is waiting to review every underground deal that I have with the federal government that means it devalues the unperturbable equanimity and serene bone homie of the country, this is my lamentation thanks.
