The inauguration of the Ukwa West Local Government chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Executive Committee, Thursday, at Obehie, was marred by protests raised by the Ozar Ukwu and Ozar West Wards, leading to a walk-out of members of the Wards during the inauguration.
ABN TV learnt that the crisis erupted when the Chairman of the party, Hon. Temple Nwachukwu, announced the list of members of the Executive, which according to him, was made available by the State Office of the party at Umuahia.
Speaking at the occasion, one of the Leaders of the party in Ozar zone, Mr. Ezedinachi Kanu, observed that many of the names called by the Chairman were not among those agreed on by Ozar Wards during the LG Congress organised by the party at Umuelechi, Asa, Ukwa West Local Government, adding that the Zone would never support the travesty and injustice being perpetrated by some people in the party.
He said it would be an absurdity for Ozar zone to endorse the deliberate plan of some mischievous minds to frustrate the party in the Local Government.
Also speaking in the same vein, a foundation member of the party in the Local Government from Ozar Zone described the removal of names agreed on through a consensus as fraudulent, stressing that the Zone would not allow the injustice to stand.
In a sideline interview, the former Chairman of Ukwa West APC, Mr. Ibe Nworgu, said he was surprised that the names announced by the current Chairman of the party were completely strange. According to him, those that the Consensus agreed on were:

2. Publicity Secretary – Nkemdirim Onyike
3. Treasurer – Onyinye Nwachukwu
4. Asst. Youth Leader – Odichi James
5. Asst. Legal Adviser – Onyedi Magnus
6. Welfare Officer – Ferdinand Nwagwu
7. Asst. Women Leader – Mrs Joy Irondi
8. Asst. Pub. Secretary – Ndudi Kanu
9. Ex-officio – Chinedu Sunday
10. Ex-officio – Chibuike Elechi
