Criminal element in Abia State are currently panicking as the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Paul Ozoemene Igwebuike says the Corps and the Nigerian Army have reviewed their collaborative strategies to ensure sustenance of the relative peace in Abia.

The Abia NSCDC Boss disclosed this shortly after a very crucial meeting with the Brigade Commander, 14 Brigade , Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barack, Nigerian Army, Ohafia – Brig. Gen. Adegoke Moses Adetuyi on Wednesday, 26th April, 2023, SC Ndukwe Agu Egwu CDPRO, Abia State Command announced in a statement.

In his address , Commandant Paul appreciated his host for his strong disposition towards building and Strengthening synergy and collaboration amongst the Security agencies in the state adding that such has engendered team spirit and it’s attendant quality security delivery to the general public.

He said “security agencies are at their best when inter-agency rivalries are jettisoned because collaboration puts the security agencies ahead of the enemies of the state.”

“we should know that even the criminal elements leverage on their intelligence network on us and will always lunch attacks when they have convincing evidence of disunity among conventional security operatives. In security tendering, certainly, no agency knows it all and none can do it all alone . We are invincible in synergy and collaborations. This is the reason for this visit ” – Commandant Paul said.

According to the release, the commandant praised the Nigerian Army for their professionalism and discipline adding that the passion and commitment they bring in training and retraining the Officers and Men of NSCDC, Abia Command in “Light Arms and Weapons Handling” have helped NSCDC Personnel in weapons handling proficiency.

The statement continued, “He however seized the opportunity offered by the visit to convey the heart felt condolences of the Commandant General – *CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD mni OFR to the Adegoke family over the loss of their beloved mother – *Late Mrs Eniola Cecilia Adetuyi and prayed God to comfort them.

Responding, the 14 Brigade Commander thanked his guest for the visit. He said the relative peace in the state was bought with a great price and can not be disconnected from the effective synergy existing among the security agencies which must be sustained. He further disclosed that the just concluded general elections in Abia State witnessed less security hitches contrary to the unpatriotic comments and doom predictions from mischief makers in the buil up to the elections .

“Brig. Gen. Adegoke also gave assurance of the readiness of the 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army to continue to partner with NSCDC, Abia State Command on manpower training and logistics to enhance their operations.

“He further pledged to work closely with the State Commandant to ensure effective protection of petroleum pipelines and other Critical National Assets and Infrastructure for economic growth and development. He however commended the State Commandant on prosecution of oil thieves/Vandals but pleaded with him do more in that direction to encourage greater success in the overall fight against economic saboteurs.

“Highlights of the visit were inspection of Guard provided by the 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Presentation of protocol plaque to Commandant Paul and the signing of the comment’s register.

“He was accompanied by some very Senior Officers of Command during the visit.’
