The Director ABN TV, Ifeanyi Okali has commended the selfless and humanitarian services the Abia state Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu has made in the fight against the novel coronavirus in the state.
He said apart from informing Abians on the safety protocols to prevent the disease, the Commissioner has exhibited uncommon kindness and patriotism in ensuring the comfort of those receiving treatment at various isolation in Abia.
In a chat with our correspondent on Wednesday, the visibly touched Okali stated that Chief John Okiyi since the outbreak of the virus stays awake when others sleep in order to ensure that his people are safe.
“Despite not being a medical doctor, he has been very visible in the fight to curtail this virus. Day and night he is on touch with the activities of the isolation centres, making sure their needs are met as well as ensuring the patients are well fed.
“In addition to all he does, he disseminates information timely in order to keep Abians informed on the progress being made. I see this to be an uncommon sacrifice. I check online late at nights and discover he is still awake. I really appreciate his efforts in service to our dear state” Okali said.
He called on the people of the state to join him in praying for God’s all-round protection upon the Commissioner as he gives his all in the interest of Abians.
