A Mobile Court sitting at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Umuahia, Abia State, presided over by Chief Magistrate P. N. Lekwa, has ordered the remand of one Ebochue Kingsley Uzoka, aged 40, over his alleged involvement in the murder of Chimaobi Anya Ojo.

ABN TV reports that the suspect was arraigned on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, on charges of conspiracy and murder.

According to the charges filed under Sections 324 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Ebochue Uzoka, along with others who are currently at large, is accused of conspiring to murder and unlawfully k!lling Chimaobi Anya Ojo on September 20, 2024, at Nkata Ibeku in Umuahia North.

The court adjourned the case to February 19, 2025, and directed the Chief Registrar of the Magistrate Court, Umuahia North, to transmit the original case file to the Attorney General of Abia State for further prosecution.

The victim, Chimaobi Anya Ojo, a 36-year-old native of Elu Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area, had returned from Poland in February 2024 to meet his newborn daughter and prepare a comfortable home for his family. Tragically, his life was cut short shortly after celebrating his daughter’s first birthday on September 8, 2024. The remand of the suspect marks a significant step in the pursuit of justice for the grieving family and community.
