A Magistrate’s Court in Ilorin remanded a 30-year-old farmer, Alli Hassan, on Wednesday for allegedly threatening to kill his biological father, Hassan Auta.
The suspect was arrested by the Kwara State Police Command after he allegedly threatened to kill his father, Hassan Auta, with a cutlass in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
According to the police report, the defendant’s father reported to the Share police station that his son arrived home late and drunk on a fateful day.
It was revealed that the defendant went into his wife’s room with a cutlass and threatened to kill her unless she packed her belongings out of the house.
With the same cutlass, the suspect went into his father’s room and threatened to kill him.
The prosecutor, Issa Abubakar, urged the court to remand the defendant to the Correctional Service facility, saying his offence is not ordinarily bailable.
The trial Magistrate, Abiola Agbetola Issa, who presided over the matter, ordered that the defendant be remanded in custody, while the matter was adjourned to June 22, 2022.
