An Abia State High Court sitting in Umuahia on Tuesday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to enlist the names and details of Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa as a House of Representatives candidate in the 2023 general elections.
The electoral umpire had excluded Chief Osonwa, gunning for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia State on the platform of Labour Party from a list it recently published.
As required by the Electoral Act, the Commission last month published successful candidates for National Assembly election in 2023.
Osonwa who earlier dumped the All Progressives Congress was declared winner of the primary election in Bende by the returning officer, Okorie Agwu when he polled 152 votes to return unopposed.
In his acceptance speech, Osonwa while expressing gratitude to the delegates for the mandate given to him urged them to come out in large numbers and support the party.
He said there is need for synergy to ensure the victory of the party at the polls.
He urged the party members not to relent in their good works, stating that he is into the race to make a change in the constituency.
