Court Grants Nollywood Actress, Oluwadarasimi Omoseyi N5m bail

Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin, a Nollywood actress charged with alleged tampering and spraying of the redesigned Naira notes, was granted N5 million bail by a Federal High Court in Lagos State on Wednesday.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) preferred two counts of charges against Omoseyin, who was arraigned before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke on Monday.

The charge was preoccupied with spraying and stepping on newly designed naira notes.

The defendant, 31, was accused of tampering with N100,000 new notes by spraying and stepping on them during an event in Lagos’s Lekki neighborhood.

She pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Justice Aneke admitted the defendant to bail and one surety in the same amount in his ruling on Wednesday.

The court ruled that the surety must be a public servant and have landed property within the jurisdiction of the court.

In addition, the surety must provide three years of tax clearance.
