Couple Escapes Death As Container-Laden Trailer Falls On Their Car In Oyo (Photos)

A couple narrowly escaped death on Thursday evening in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, after a container-laden trailer overturned and fell on their car moments after they had alighted from the vehicle.

The incident occurred in the Ogbomoso High School area, creating panic among eyewitnesses. According to reports from InsideOgbomoso, the trailer, with registration number Nasarawa JZ 101 ZA, was carrying a long container when it lost balance and tipped over, crushing the car with a Lagos registration number.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as miraculous, noting that the couple had just stepped out of the vehicle before the trailer collapsed on it.

Authorities had yet to comment on the cause of the accident when this report was filed. However, the incident highlights ongoing concerns about the safety of heavy-duty vehicles on Nigerian roads.

The area was cordoned off as rescue teams and local authorities worked to remove the trailer and assess the damage. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were recorded.
