Complete Hajj Payment Of N2.9m By April 21 Or Lose Slot, Board Warns

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board on Saturday called on intending pilgrims who have deposited some money with the board to make efforts to finish payment for the Hajj on or before April 21 or risk losing the Hajj seat.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Mohammad Danbatta, made the call while speaking with newsmen in Kano on Saturday.

He said that collection of Hajj fare would soon close, as the exercise was getting closer by the day.

Danbatta said that intending pilgrims would pay N2.9 million as Hajj fare while blaming the increase in this year’s Hajj fare to rising dollar exchange rate and the increase in tax revenue from Saudi Arabia and airlines.

He also said that screening of the state intending pilgrims would commence after April 21, when the collection of the fare would have closed across the 44 local government areas of the state.
