The Anglican Bishop of Nnewi Diocese in Anambra State, the Rt. Rev Ndubuisi Obi, has expressed worry about the helplessness of the Federal Government over the growing cases of abduction of pupils by bandits.
He said rather than rescue the innocent children from their abductors, the Federal Government was busy pursuing the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) members and their vigilante arm, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
The cleric spoke on Sunday while addressing reporters ahead of the 9th Session of Diocese of Nnewi Anglican Communion Synod, Anambra State, scheduled to begin on Thursday at St. James Church, Ichi, in Ekwusigo Local Government.

He said the government had the option of setting up ranches at the Sambisa forest and other forests in the North.
Obi lamented that those at the corridors of power created more problems in the country than solutions.
He said: “It’s alarming the way the Federal Government deploys soldiers in Imo State to chase IPOB and ESN members, leaving bandits and herdsmen to ravage the North and other parts of the country, killing, maiming and kidnapping for ransom.”
