The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) has given the Federal High Court of Nigeria permission to propose nine candidates for appointment as judges to its bench.

The new permission comes on top of the former one, which gave the court permission to add 15 judges to its bench.

According to a statement made by the Assistant Director of Information for the Court, Catherine Oby Christopher, the nine Judges would be assigned to the Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Gombe, Ogun, and Oyo divisions of the Court.

According to the statement provided to our correspondent on Friday in Abuja, Justice John Tsoho, the Chief Judge of the Court, has requested that current judges, the federation’s attorney general, and the president of the Nigerian Bar Association nominate suitably qualified individuals from the five states for appointment to the Court’s bench.
