Civil Defence Official Allegedly Kills Scrap Collector In Abia Over N2000 Bribe (Photo, Video)

An official of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) whose identity could not be immediately ascertained has shot dead a metal scrap collector in Ubakala, Umuahia South of Abia State.

ABN TV gathered that Amadi Agwu Kelechi a native of Amasiri Afikpo North Ebonyi state was reportedly killed following an argument arising from the payment of N2000 bribe to the security operative.

Officials of the NSCDC were said to have invaded the dump of the scrap collectors located at Ubakala Umuahia where the incident took place.

In the process of an ensuing argument, the victim was shot.

He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia where he was pronounced dead.

  • This story is one sided, the true story has it that the security men went to the dump for a search operation on a report of stealing government assets and infrastructures by the scrap dealers. On reaching there, the scrap dealers refused them to conduct the search and 7 of them attacked the security men with all kind of metal, Machet and locally made gun. The victim was the one that attempted to disarm the security man but was not lucky as the security man shut him on the leg on close range. He later died as a result of excess bleeding.
