The Chairman/MD Express Concern Group of Companies, High Chief Daniel Chimezie Okeke, congratulated Abia state on its 32nd anniversary.
The state was created in 1991 by the then-military president, Ibrahim Babangida.
In a felicitation message, while decrying poor leadership confronting the state over the years, he applauded the incredible journey of growth, development, and unity that has characterized the state in the past 32 years.
The House of Representatives candidate in the 2023 election highlighted that Abia has forged ahead with determination, resilience, and a commitment to shaping a brighter future for its citizens.
He said, “We may have been very unlucky with poor leadership over the years, but amidst the challenges, I see a bright future and renewed hope with the turn of events recently. The perseverance of the people of Abia State shines through, as you navigate through adversity and strive for positive change.
“Over the past three decades, Abia State has evolved into a vibrant hub of culture, commerce, and innovation. Your rich cultural heritage, diverse traditions, and warm hospitality have made you not just a geographic entity, but a community of individuals who contribute to the state’s unique tapestry.
“The accomplishments achieved in these 32 years stand as a testament to the collaborative efforts of your people, leaders, and institutions. From educational advancements to economic development, from advancements in healthcare to infrastructural improvements, Abia State has consistently demonstrated its dedication to progress.
“As we celebrate this milestone, let us also recognize the challenges that have been overcome and the lessons that have been learned along the way. Through overcoming challenges, we grow stronger and more resilient, and Abia State’s journey is a testament to this truth.
“As the state continues to evolve, I am confident that the spirit of innovation and unity will drive you to even greater heights. May your anniversary serve as a reminder of the progress made and the potential that lies ahead. Let us continue to work together, fostering an environment where every citizen can thrive and contribute to the shared vision of Abia State’s success.
“Here’s to the people of Abia State who make it what it is, the leaders who guide its path, and the future that holds endless possibilities. Happy 32nd Anniversary, Abia State! May your legacy of growth, resilience, and unity shine even brighter in the years to come.”
