Chidia Maduekwe Set For Traditional Title In Ohafia, To Lay Foundation For NFC Cinematography Centre

All is now set for the traditional title of ‘ISHI NKA’ to be bestowed of the MD/CEO of Nigerian Films Corporation, NFC Dr. Chidia Maduekwe at his Asaga Ohafia home in Ohafia local government area of Abia by the council of monarchs.

The title stands for valour and creativity.

This is even as the foundation for the establishment of a Nigerian Films Corporation, NFC Cinematography Centre in Asaga Ohafia will be laid on Sunday, January 2, 2022.

Speaking with ABN TV on Sunday, Dr. Maduekwe said said the official foundation laying will be conducted by the Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial district, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu.

Dr. Maduekwe recalled the role he played in the establishment of a Federal Government College in Ebem Ohafia in the early 90s, noting that the current effort to establish a Cinematography Centre in Asaga Ohafia has created a lot of excitement among the people, adding that these and other people-oriented projects he has carried out formed the basis for his recognition by the council of Ndi Eze in the community.

At a thanksgiving service scheduled to take place at All Saints Presbyterian Church Ohafia on Sunday, Dr. Maduekwe hinted that he will give thanks to God that he survived multiple accidents and attacks over the years.

I have survived multiple accidents. I have survived assassination attempts in the course of my political endeavour.

“As a child soldier, I fought the civil war, I went and came back and nothing happened to me. I must say God has been gracious. I have been honoured with Federal Government appointments, multiple times over.

“I have ran elections, I have won elections. Above all God gave me parents whose values and virtues are the reaso for who I am today. I felt I should honour them, particularly my father who was the first educated reverend minister from this community.

“I am also unveiling a foundation in his honour, Rev. U.U Maduekwe Foundation, specially devoted to bringing smiles to the faces of children of reverend ministers who have passed on, who are feeling challenged and of course we will also be involved with the gospel evangelism and providing infrastructural support to the church” he said.

He said the events rolled together in the beginning of the year is preparing him for what he called a journey of redemption, re-invention, re-alignment and a journey that will bring good governance to Abia state as 2023 approaches.
