Chelsea have been urged to make a transfer offer for Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Niddi before the on-going summer window closes for business in a few months time.
Chelsea have enjoyed an incredible 2021 so far, lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy for the second time in their history after beating Manchester City in the final.
The Blues were imperious in their European run with midfield maestro, N’Golo Kante providing exceptional consistency in the middle of the park but they will need more.
Despite his side’s glory, Thomas Tuchel is likely to add a few fresh faces to an already star-studded squad with the German reportedly on the lookout for a new midfielder, prompting more links to Ndidi.
football.london wrote on their website: “Another Premier League midfielder that the Blues should look at is Leicester City’s Wilfred Niddi.
“Ndidi has been a revelation since his move to the Foxes, helping propel them into Europe the last two seasons.
“The 24-year-old is unselfish, often sitting right in front of his defenders to offer them protection and allow his more attacking teammates to roam forward, a quality that Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Kai Havertz would reap the rewards from.
“Ndidi would likely command a large fee, with Transfermarkt valuing him at £45m.
“However, the Nigerian would definitely be worth it considering he ranks higher than the likes of Kante and Rice for average tackles (4.34) and blocks (2.46) per game.
“It would also serve as a huge transfer blow to Leicester – a direct rival for the top-four places, having pushed Chelsea right to the wire this season and last.”
