Chelsea are reportedly preparing for a major squad shake-up this summer, with as many as 10 players potentially heading for the exit, according to The Athletic.
In a bid to streamline the squad and fund new signings, the club is open to selling several high-profile names. Among those under consideration for departure are Noni Madueke, Nicolas Jackson, and Christopher Nkunku.
Also on the list of possible exits are Djordje Petrovic, Armando Broja, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Raheem Sterling, Carney Chukwuemeka, and recent signing Renato Veiga. A number of these players spent last season out on loan and may now be offloaded permanently.
Chelsea’s summer transfer approach is focused on achieving key objectives through targeted sales and reinforcements. Offloading surplus players is expected to generate the financial flexibility needed to strengthen critical areas of the squad.
The Blues have already begun their summer business with the €35.5 million signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. His arrival could push Jackson further down the pecking order, with the striker now being considered for a possible sale.
One of Chelsea’s key targets is Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who is viewed as a potential replacement for Madueke.
While Chelsea are keen to cut down the squad size and boost their transfer budget, the futures of Jackson, Madueke, and Nkunku will largely hinge on the quality of offers received in the coming weeks.
With preparations underway for a challenging new season, Chelsea could be set for a busy transfer window as they reshape the squad under their evolving project at Stamford Bridge.
