Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso are available for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Ligue 1 club Lille.
Azpilicueta has battled with injury and illness recently, while Alonso has been kept out of the squad after contracting coronavirus.
Tuchel revealed that the duo is ready to start the game, with only Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi the injury doubts.
“Marcos is ready to start. Azpi is ready to start. We will try to have them (James and Hudson-Odoi) later in training but it will be a very tight race. We will make the decision after training,” the German told reporters at a press conference.
“As you know, they were not involved and the injuries that they had, let’s see if it is worth the risk or even possible.”
Chelsea head into the contest holding a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, given to them by goals from Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic.
