Professor Charles Soludo was on Monday sworn in as the sixth civilian governor of Anambra state.
ABN TV reports that Soludo, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), won the November 6, 2021 governorship election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). He defeated his closest rivals from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Valentine Ozigbo and Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba, respectively.
He takes over from Willie Obiano, who is bowing out today.
Although Soludo said the event will be low-key, the venue of the inauguration was a hive of activities as guests.
The atmosphere looked bright as the red carpet covered much of the inauguration ground.
