Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has said he has capacity to make terrorism and insecurity a thing of the past if elected the country’s President in 2023 within 14 to 24 months and hand the country back to Nigerians.
Sen. Kalu who said he understands Nigeria and her people by their ethnicity and tribe added that he will deploy his power of intellect to lead the country.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today monitored by ABN TV on Friday, Sen. Kalu said returning Nigeria from terrorism has seemed a hard job to carry out, stating that he will preside over a Nigeria where all segments of the society will be happy.
The presidential hopeful said as someone who ran a state for eight years without any major unrest, he will replicate same success at the national level if given opportunity to lead.
The former Abia governor said he has not at any time discussed his presidential ambition with President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that his last meeting with the President was centred on issues concerning the nation, terrorism, banditry, how to stabilise the country and other major issues in the National Assembly, including the electoral law.
“He is the President of Nigeria and I have told you the party is supreme, I am waiting for the party to say they are zoning the presidency to the South, and via to South East and via via to Igbere in my Bende local government, then I can come out. I will draw the daggers” he said.
He said if the APC zones its ticket to the South, he will be ready to confront anyone to jostle for it, stating that he has the financial muscle and contact to face anyone to grab the APC ticket.
