With the 2023 general elections just a few months away, supporters of certain presidential aspirants have begun marketing their candidates more vigorously in the bid to sway opinion in their favor.
A few hours ago, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Government on Drainage and Water Resources, Chief Joe Igbokwe, took to his Facebook page to talk about the impact Lagos has had on his life and that of many others who migrated to the state from various parts of the country.
In his eulogy, the All Progressives Congress Chieftain pointed out that Lagos is a state where one can visit without anything valuable, and yet go back to his hometown with lots of material wealth later on.
According to him, Nigeria’s former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is responsible for his success in life, adding that he would have ended up as a native doctor back in the Southeast.
“Lagos… If not for Lagos, somebody like me will be in Aba chasing lizards to use as a native doctor. You come to Lagos with a nylon bag and go back to Ibo land with a Rolls Royce.
Abeg pray for Lagos make e no spoil o. If Lagos spoil, all of us don enter gbege o.
Musings of grateful South Easterner living in Lagos,” he wrote.
