Buhari, Tinubu, Five African Presidents Set To Commission Dangote Refinery

The largest 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Refinery in Africa will be officially opened today, Monday, in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, by Presidents Muhammadu Buhari, Nana Akufo-Addo, Faure Gnassingbé of Togo, Mahamat Déby of Chad, Macky Sall of Senegal, and Mohamed Bazoum of Niger.

Additionally, President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu will grace the event, while President Paul Kagame of Rwanda will electronically deliver his message of goodwill despite not being present in person.

The historic occasion is anticipated to revolutionize Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

The newest refinery owned by Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, can produce more than enough of each refined product for export in addition to meeting all of Nigeria’s needs for refined products (53 million liters per day of gasoline, 34 million liters per day of diesel, 10 million liters per day of kerosene, and 2 million liters per day of aviation jet fuel).
